Sharon Murphy

Sharon Kay (Vedmore) Murphy, of Olivet, MI, passed away at her home on July 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born July 7, 1940 in Kalamazoo to Milford and Opal (Morse) Vedmore and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1957 Graduate of Marshall High School. She was united in marriage to Leon Murphy for 53 years. He survives. Also surviving, is her daughter, Kelly (Tom) Parker; son, Mark (Leslie) Murphy; grandchildren, Trenton, Erinne and Cameron Murphy and Sam and Bailey Parker; sister, Nancy McDonald and brother, Robert McGee. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley and granddaughter, Erikka Murphy. Sharon wintered in Haines City, Florida with her husband, Leon, she enjoyed needlepoint, reading, loved Soap Operas and especially loved her grandkids. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI with Pastor Scott Brood officiating. Interment will be in the Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the American Diabetes Association.
