Sherrill Edward Allen

Sherrill E. Allen, age 75, of Charlotte, MI, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. Mr. Allen was born Dec. 25, 1937 in Kenova, West Virginia the son of Kearney and Dora (Foreman) Allen. He was a retired employee of the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. of Charlotte with 34 years of service and was currently a member of the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church of Charlotte. He was always making “lists” and staying busy, enjoyed his coffee and above all dearly loved his family. Surviving are: his wife of 56 years, Donna (Rose) Allen; daughter, Kathy (Ken) Cole of Perry; son, Ed (Sherry) Allen of Charlotte; grandchildren, Kylie and Tyler Allen; brother, Frank (Jean) Allen; sister, Katherine Moore; his favorite brother-in-law, Wally (Bev) Rose and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Cheryl Sue Allen. Per Sherrill’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church, Charlotte, MI with Rev. Gary Wales officiating with a luncheon following services in the church fellowship hall. There will be a time of visitation for one hour prior to the service.
