Shirley L. Smalley

Shirley L. Smalley of Potterville, MI, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her home with her loving family at her side. Shirley was born April 28, 1929 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Arden H. and Neva G. (Bryan) Butler and had been a Potterville resident since 1947. She was a 1947 Graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and had been employed by American Bank and Trust at both the Lansing and Charlotte Offices. Previously had been employed by General Motors at the Jet Plant in Lansing. She enjoyed flower gardening and playing Euchre. She is survived by: Sons, James F. (Sherrie) Smalley of Mount Pleasant and Douglas D. (Pamela) Smalley of Potterville: Daughter, Linda L. Amey of Potterville; eight grandchildren, Scott A. Smalley, Heather (David) Skogerson, Thomas A. Smalley, Kenneth Prudden, Melissa Crawford, Joshua J. (Kalais) Smalley, Christian V. (Danielle) Amey and Matthew J. (Lisa Tossey) Amey; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and brother, Ronald (Becky) Butler of Arizona. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Francis J. “Smokey” Smalley; brothers, Edwin and William Butler and sister, Barbara Davis. At Shirley’s prior request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Potterville United Methodist Church with a Luncheon/Reception to follow. Pastor Lyne Stull-Lipps will officiate.
