Stan E. Nippa, age 63, of Owosso, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was born January 22, 1958, in Flint the son of Robert and Joan (Hayden) Nippa. He graduated from Montrose High School with the Class of 1976. Stan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired after 25 years of service with the Department of Corrections. He was the Chief Steward Officer for the MCO and served on the Department of Corrections Emergency Response Team. Stan enjoyed cooking in recent years. He also loved traveling and spent time residing in Wyoming and Texas. Stan is survived by his wife, Debra; mother, Joan Ann Osterman; brother, Craig Nippa; best friends: James Lovacz, John Foster, Tom Perry, and Jacob Gibson who provided Stan with much loving care in his last days. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Nippa; step-father: Art Osterman; Aunt Dora; and Grandma Hayden. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 6 P.M. at the American Legion Richard F. Smith Post 29, 3200 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI 49202.
