Stanton D Moore

Stanton D. Moore of Charlotte, Michigan, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Lansing, Michigan to Stanton G “Pete” and Alberta V. Durfee Moore on February 4, 1944. Stan graduated from Charlotte High School in 1962 and enlisted in the Navy that same year. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1988. Not long after he retired, he met the love of his life and married Dottie on Christmas Eve 1990. He dedicated his remaining years to his family and community being involved in too many committees and organizations to mention in one short article. He is survived by: his loving wife of 27 years, Dottie Anthes-Moore; children, Clark (fiancé Tamara) Moore of Charlotte, Jenny (Donnie) Hinton of Virginia Beach, VA, Michelle (Shawn) Hubbard of Charlotte, Steve Steigman of Ohio and April (Bruce) Welton of Grand Ledge; 11 grandchildren; brother, Tom (Karen) Moore of Fairview Park, OH and sister, Marion Grunge of San Jose, CA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the First Congregational Church UCC in Charlotte with Rev. Philip Hobson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home and on Monday from 1-2 PM at the Church prior to the Services. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Eaton Furniture & Clothing Center, the First Congregational Church or the National Kidney Foundation.
