Thelma O. Bonham, age 98 of Charlotte, MI, died Sat. Jan. 30, 2010 at the Eaton Community Hospice House. Thelma (Burnworth) Bonham was born near Hartford City, Indiana the daughter of Ransom & Viola (Heniser) Burnworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, prominent Charlotte Businessman and former City Council member. She is survived by daughters, Joellen Piskitel (Leslie) of Oakland, CA and Karen Fuller (Jerry, deceased) of Charlotte; 5 grandchildren, Tim Fuller (Kathy), Jennifer Mahlich (Kurt), Stacey Hardy (Jeff), Hiram Piskitel (Myung Gin) and Margaret Piskitel (Noah Kravitz); 8 Great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; her sister, Bonnie Love (Lloy); many nephews, nieces, grand nephews & grand nieces. She was for many years, Assistant librarian in the Charlotte Public Library, as well as librarian for over 40 years at Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church. In both libraries she created attractive displays urging people to read. She also gave book reviews to various groups. Her husband and she were instrumental in starting the hand bell group at the Methodist Church. They also spent many hours visiting sick people and helping wherever they could. She was active in the church serving in various capacities and on many committees including the Naomi Circle. Her crafts & needle work were favorites at the annual bazaar. She was an avid gardener and worked in her garden well into her 90s, sharing what she grew with neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Rebecca Morrison officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P. M. until time of Funeral services.
