Thomas Robert Rinckey, age 72, of Charlotte passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born September 19, 1944 in Lansing to Robert W. and Geraldine M. (Reed) Rinckey. Tom went on to graduate from Haslett High School with the class of 1962. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1965-1971. Soon after high school he took a job with the Bank of Lansing where he eventually served as the bank manager. He later went on to work for Lansing Auto Supply. Tom retired in 2005 after nearly 28 years of service in the auto supply field. He had a gregarious personality that others were drawn to. If there was music playing you could always be sure to find Tom dancing amongst the crowd. This is probably why his mother nicknamed him "Twinkle Toes". He was an avid music collector of all genres. Tom enjoyed his many different motorcycles and Chevy Corvettes throughout the years. Tom was very handy around the house. There wasnt a project that he wasnt capable of handling with ease. Whether it was electrical, heating and cooling, or construction, Tom knew it all. He loved all animals but his dog Mandy held a special place in his heart. They could often be seen together cruising around town. Tom also enjoyed his family cookouts/BBQ. He would invite the entire family over and would not only fix the normal hotdogs and hamburgers but would always have steaks fixed to perfection. He is survived by his children: Taryn L. Rinckey, Tara Pizzo, Kim Pizzo; brothers: Charles "Chuck" Rinckey, Robert "Bob" (Nini) Rinckey; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2011; parents; brother, Steven Rinckey; and motherin-law and father-in-law, Robert and Doris Masters. As were Toms wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in Toms honor to the Capital Area Humane Society 7095 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.
