Veralee Lovejoy Eaton Rapids, MI and Palmetto, Florida Veralee (Scott) Lovejoy, age 85 of Eaton Rapids, MI died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte. Veralee was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Lansing the daughter of Thomas and Sylvia (Herman) Scott. She volunteered for 25 years Transcribing Braille for the blind and taught sign language in Palmetto, Florida. During World War Two she worked for the Railroad and also the Eaton Rapids Flashes newspaper. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church of Charlotte where she was a member of the Choir and taught Sunday School. She was also Choir Director of the “Rhythmaires” and her Church Choir in Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Tom Scott and her sister, Margaret Christner. She is survived by: her husband of 67 years, Ronald Lovejoy; daughter, Sue (Mike) Kessler; son, Tom (Evelyn) Lovejoy; daughter-in-law, Carol (Bill) White; sisters, Mable Bryant and Wilma (Howard) Sewell and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Friday, April 20, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St. in Charlotte with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 P. M. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte and on Friday from 9:00 A.
