Verlin J. Franks

Verlin J. Franks of Olivet, MI, age 72 died Sunday, June 2, 2013. Verlin was born Sept. 25, 1940 in Marshall, MI the son of Charles and Madge (Watson) Franks and was a life resident of the Olivet area. He was a 1959 Graduate of Olivet High School and was an avid Olivet High School Sports enthusiast. He was an Eaton Corporation, Marshall employee from where he retired in 2005 after 44 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. Euchre League in Springport. Surviving are: his wife, Cheryl (Bowser) Franks; Sons, Greg (Pat) Franks of Olivet, Steve (Karla) Weers of Moore, OK and Allen Weers of Charlotte; 2 grandchildren, Travis and Stephanie Weers; his Mother, Madge Snook of Marshall; brother, Charles (Joan) Franks of Bellevue; sister, Diana (Gordon) Riggs of Bellevue and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: sister, Bonnie; his father, Charles Franks; step-mother, Thelma Franks and step father, Cecil Snook. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Winford Collins officiating. Interment will be in the Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet.
