Vernal Louise Workman

Vernal L. Workman of Charlotte, MI, age 92, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Workman was born Jan. 15, 1923 in Portland, MI the daughter of William and Sarah (Reynolds) Atwell and had been a Charlotte resident since 1963 coming from Grand Ledge, MI. She was a Graduate of Grand Ledge High School, was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Charlotte and was a member of the Tri-County Iris Club. She had been employed as a Clerk/Typist for the Secretary Of State retiring in 1986 after 17 years of Service. Surviving are: two sons, James M. (Kim) Workman of Eaton Rapids and Roger H. (Marci Yoder) Workman of Lake Odessa; two daughters, Mary Joyce Workman of Charlotte and Cheryl (Robert) White of Coldwater; 7 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: husbands, Charles A. Richardson and James H. Workman; daughter, Anita Warren; grandson, Douglas Workman; granddaughter, Sara Warren; great grandson, Christopher Warren; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor David Keller officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
