Vicky Lynn Vandyke

Vicky Lynn VanDyke, age 62, of Charlotte, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Sparrow Eaton Hospital. She was born February 27, 1958, in Lansing the daughter of Wayne and Nina (Foess) Sober. Vicky graduated from Williamston High School with the class of 1976. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Spring Arbor University and her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Vicky was extremely crafty and enjoyed creating many beautiful things. She was gifted in cross stitch, painting, and jewelry making. Vicky also loved to sing at church during worship services. She was an active member of New Hope Community Church in Charlotte. Vicky loved her family and was especially fond of her grandchildren. Vicky is survived by her children: Ronald (Caleigh) VanDyke of Italy; Cassandra (Nathan) Davis of Charlotte; grandchildren: Isabella VanDyke, Parker Davis, Jack VanDyke, Korbin Davis, Jeremiah Davis, Charlie VanDyke; mother, Nina Mae Foess; siblings: Evert (Kollene) Sober of Charlotte, Brenda Sober of Potterville, Ernest (Regina) Sober of St. Johns, Joshua (Cheryl) Sober of Charlotte; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father; daughter, Misti VanDyke; sister Evelyn Linton; and ex-husband, Ronald VanDyke. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 12 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Royston officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
