Violet May Geddie of Charlotte, Michigan, age 84, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services in Charlotte after a lengthy illness. Violet was born May 6, 1931 in Howard City, Michigan the daughter of Donald and Lillian (Hay) Albion and had been a Charlotte resident since 1955. She was the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Howard City High School and had been employed as a Telephone Operator before coming to Charlotte and while in Charlotte had been employed at McNamara’s Drug store, the Charlotte IGA and B’s Floral. She had volunteered in the Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital Gift Shop and had been an active member of the Eaton Area Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and also enjoyed motorcycling with her husband. Surviving are: her three sons, Phillip Bruce Geddie of Chemehuevi Res., California, John D. (Ellen) Geddie of Howell and William “Bill” (Tammy) Geddie of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Shawn & Jeremy Brown, Jason & Jeremy Geddie, Brooke E. Geddie, Benjamin Geddie and Brandi Clark; 15 great grandchildren; step-sister, Betty Jones of St. Louis and step-brother, Jerry Sorenson of Howard City. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Donna Albaugh and her husband of 61 years, John F. Geddie on Jan. 25, 2015. There will be no visitation. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Activities Department at Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services, 530 Beech St., Charlotte, MI 48813.
