Violet May Geddie

Violet May Geddie of Charlotte, Michigan, age 84, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services in Charlotte after a lengthy illness. Violet was born May 6, 1931 in Howard City, Michigan the daughter of Donald and Lillian (Hay) Albion and had been a Charlotte resident since 1955. She was the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Howard City High School and had been employed as a Telephone Operator before coming to Charlotte and while in Charlotte had been employed at McNamara’s Drug store, the Charlotte IGA and B’s Floral. She had volunteered in the Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital Gift Shop and had been an active member of the Eaton Area Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and also enjoyed motorcycling with her husband. Surviving are: her three sons, Phillip Bruce Geddie of Chemehuevi Res., California, John D. (Ellen) Geddie of Howell and William “Bill” (Tammy) Geddie of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Shawn & Jeremy Brown, Jason & Jeremy Geddie, Brooke E. Geddie, Benjamin Geddie and Brandi Clark; 15 great grandchildren; step-sister, Betty Jones of St. Louis and step-brother, Jerry Sorenson of Howard City. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Donna Albaugh and her husband of 61 years, John F. Geddie on Jan. 25, 2015. There will be no visitation. Private family services will be held.
