Virginia J. Dravenstatt

Virginia J. (Bryan) Dravenstatt of Potterville, MI, age 89, died Thursday, September 29, 2011. Virginia was born June 1, 1922 in Charlotte, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel (Barr) Bryan and was a lifelong resident of the Potterville area. She was a 1941 Graduate of Charlotte High School and had been employed by the Barry-Eaton District Health Department from where she retired after 25 years of service. Prior to that had been employed at General Motors in Lansing, Jerrold’s of Charlotte and Forell’s Canning Factory of Charlotte. She was a life member of the Brookfield O. E. S., had been a Mother Advisor to the Potterville Rainbow Girls and had been a co-owner with her husband of the Rivergate Campground of Hastings. She enjoyed bowling and had been involved in area Bowling Leagues. Surviving are: her daughter, Patricia (Kenneth) Ploch of Charlotte; 2 granddaughters, Kristen (Gary) Bigelow of Holt and Tricia (Andy) Woodcock of Eaton Rapids; 6 great grandchildren, Tyler & Ryan Bigelow, Conner, Lincoln & Hadleigh Woodcock and Austin Ploch. Also Austin’s brother, Cody Cripe and Austin’s Mother, Peggy Wells; Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Ralph H. Dravenstatt; grandson, Kenneth Ploch; sisters, Frances Forell and Naoma Thorburn; brother, Donald Bryan and her favorite dog, Rambo. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Joe Huston officiating. Visitation will be held also on Sunday from 6:00 P.M. until time of services at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Benton Township Cemetery.
