Wayne F. Sober age 77 of Charlotte, MI, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness. Wayne was born Aug. 26, 1934 in Williamston, MI the son of Evert and Lucille (Dill) Sober and had been a Charlotte resident for 4 years coming from Barton City, MI. He had served proudly in the U. S. Marines during the Korean Conflict, had been employed as an Inspector at General Motors in Lansing from where he retired in June of 1983 after 31 years of service and attended the Charlotte Assembly Of God. Surviving are: his wife, Nina Mae (Foess) Sober; six children, Victoria Van Dyke of Las Vegas, NV, Evelyn Linton of Lansing, Evert (Kollene) Sober of Charlotte, Brenda Sober of Charlotte, Ernest (Regina) Sober of Charlotte and Joshua (Cheryl) Sober of Luzerne, MI; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Norma Bachman and Mary Allen. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at the Charlotte Assembly Of God, 1100 E. Clinton Trail, Charlotte, MI with Pastor Mark Woodbury officiating. Military rites will be provided by the U. S. Marine Corps. Visitation will be held also on Saturday from 11:00 A. M. until time of services at the Church. Cremation to follow services. Memorial contributions may go to the Charlotte Assembly Of God for the Children’s ministry.
