Wilbur G. Estell

Wilbur G. Estell Charlotte, Michigan Wilbur G. Estell, age 96, passed away on July 15, 2011. He was born in Charlotte, Michigan to Cora and Alfred Estell, the youngest of five children: Raymond, Gladys, Grace and Neva who all predeceased him. He attended the one-room Valley School and graduated from Charlotte High School. Wilbur successfully managed the family farm on Chester Road for many years where he grew crops and raised livestock. Later in life he married Harriet Young who predeceased him in 2002. They enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida and participating in a variety of community organizations and events. Wilbur was an active member of the Charlotte Lions Club and a longtime member of the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church. Wilbur is survived by his niece, Bonnie Tebo and her family; step-daughter, Signia Warner and step-son, Lewis Young; five grandchildren: Mitchell Warner, Joel Young, Heather Warner-Rice, Christina Menzie and Ingrid Bryan and eight great grandchildren: Jennifer Young, Janelle Young, Alexandria Bryan, Riley Bryan, Samuel Menzie, Gabriel Menzie, Glenn Rice and Nigel Rice. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30 A. M. until time of services at the Funeral Home. A luncheon will be provided following services by the Lawrence Ave. United Methodist Church at Noon.
