The Lord has come for His greatest masterpiece, our mother, and grandmother; Yolanda G. Zamarron on December 10, 2021. She was born in June of 1933 in Chile, South America, to Dr. and Mrs. Gujardro. Her life in Chile was one of privilege and deep seated in the Catholic faith. She always found solace in prayer, during feast and famine her entire life. Her youth was spent exploring her country from the snow capped mountains, going to the ocean, to visiting the capital for music and food. In 1965, Yolanda embarked on her greatest adventure; coming to the United States as a mail order bride. In December of that year, she became the wife of Aurelio Zamarron. To this union was born Isabel Alejandra and Antonio (Tony) Aurelio. We would become her greatest joy in life. After being married for 10 years, Mom became a widow with two small children; thus beginning the biggest journey of her life. Yolanda was not one to sit back and let others do for her. She learned how to drive and speak better English so she could provide for her children. Our mother was one of the hardest working women we have ever known. She acquired a job at the Carson City Hospital working in the laundry for over 30 years. She was very proud of her job and she taught her children to show pride in our work, even if it was folding towels. She taught us to always be grateful for all things. Our childhood home was filled with friends who became family. Sunday dinners as well as week day meals were shared with so many people. The table was surrounded with stories and laughter. Her love of flowers and gardening was shared with many. She was always growing or giving away the fruits of her labor. She found a home with the Mennonite people; she valued their beliefs of faith in God’s word. She became a member of the Mt. Calm Mennonite Church of Carson City, Michigan. She was forever grateful for the community of members that became our family, helping us navigate through life and faith. All children regardless of age, knew that Yolanda had a piece of candy for them after church. She gave out hundreds of pieces of candy during her lifetime. Her grandchildren Anelise, Lillian, Ethan, and Oliva were the final pieces of joy to her heart. She was so thankful to God for them, she prayed for them daily from the day she heard they were coming. Although miles separated them in the end, she truly loved them. Those left to cherish her memory are her children and grandchildren, Isabel of Midland, Michigan, Tony and wife Tara of Othello Washington, Grandchildren Anelise of Seattle, Washington. Lillian and husband Sanford Koehn of Paxton, Nebraska. Ethan Zamarron and Oliva Zamarron of Othello, Washington. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 11 A.M. at the Mt. Calm Mennonite Church with Ministers Mike Litwiller, Jeff Litwiller, James Leid and Deacon Jered Litwiller officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Per Yolanda’s wishes her final resting place will be in her home country of Chile, South America in the Andes Mountains.
