Zella E. (Kelley) Masters

Zella E. Masters Charlotte, MI Zella E. (Kelley) Masters age 91 of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 in Charlotte. Mrs. Masters was born July 10, 1919 in Oneida Township, the daughter of Vivian and Anna (Forest) Kelley. She was born at home, delivered by a Woman doctor who had to travel 7 miles with her horse and buggy to deliver the baby. She had been employed for many years at the Charlotte Schools Cafeteria and prior to that was employed at Recordio Corp. and the Newberry Dime Store. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, working in the garden and flowers but most of all, her family was extremely important to her. Surviving are: four sons, Philip (Marilyn) Masters of Grand Rapids, Bruce (Diane) Masters of Charlotte, Gordon (Ronn Blodgett) Masters of Lansing and Rick (Debra) Masters of Ft. Wayne, IN; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and brother, Lester Kelley of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lysle Masters in 2001 and brother, Marvin Kelley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
